THE NEXT CHAPTER: PLANNERS JOIN WVD

For years, Wedding Venues Directory focused primarily on venues and destinations. But wedding planners are one of the most important players in the entire wedding process, so adding them felt like a very natural next step.

We’re introducing Planners as an official new direction on the platform. Wedding Venues Directory now connects couples not only with where to say “I do,” but with who can bring the entire day together.

Why now

The wedding industry doesn’t run on venues alone. Behind every seamless destination wedding is a planner who understands logistics, culture, timelines, and the countless moving parts couples never see. It was time our directory reflected that.

Finding a wedding planner is only the first step. The next question for a couple is much more difficult: which wedding planner should we actually contact?

This is something we thought about a lot when developing the Planner category.

Many professional profiles online are built around long descriptions. The story of the company. How it started. Philosophy. Inspiration. Several paragraphs explaining the approach.

There is nothing wrong with any of that. Your own website is the right place to tell your full story.

But when a couple is comparing several planners, they usually need some very practical information first:

  • Where is this planner based?
  • In which destinations do they work?
  • Which languages do they speak?
  • Which cultures do they have experience with?
  • What level of wedding budgets do they normally work with?
  • How are their professional fees structured?

We built Planner profiles around these questions because they help a couple understand very quickly whether a particular wedding planner could be relevant for their wedding.

Users can also save planners, add them to favourites and compare different planners before making a decision.

And when they are ready to contact someone, they can do it directly.

The planner’s email and WhatsApp details are available on the profile.

No enquiry form that first has to travel through a website system and hopefully does not end up unnoticed or in a spam folder.

If someone likes your work and believes you may be the right planner for them, contacting you should be easy.

What it means for planners

Couples from the USA, UK, UAE, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, India, and France, along with fast-growing markets like Singapore and China, already use WVD to plan their weddings. With an intuitive, map-based search, they can now find the right planner just as easily as they find the right venue.

Joining the directory gives planners:

  • Visibility in front of an active, international audience of engaged couples, hotelier, venue managers, tourism boards
  • Submit Your Weddings, a space to showcase real weddings you’ve planned
  • Your own voice, publish articles on your achievements, insights, and perspective on where the wedding industry is headed

At this stage, planners can be featured through curated shortlists and editorial round-ups across Wedding Venues Directory and its social media channels.
