A Wedding to Remember: The Love Story of Jenil & Jiah
Among the many celebrations held within the gilded halls of Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, one wedding stands apart in memory and emotion – the March 2025 nuptials of Jenil & Jiah. Over three days, 350 guests experienced eight intricately themed events, each executed with precision, grandeur, and soul.
From the moment guests arrived, the celebration unfolded like a fairytale. The welcome night – SHAAM E HABIBI – brought souks to the seashore, complete with falcons, belly dancers, fire performers, and a beachside DJ under the Arabian stars.
The following morning, the Oriental Pool hosted “Pop-Up Pyaar,” a Haldi celebration bursting with colour and laughter. That evening, the Etihad Ballroom transformed into “Noor-e-Groove,” a glamorously styled Sangeet in peacock tones, glittering gold, and electric energy – reminiscent of a high-production concert.
But it was the wedding ceremony – Pearl of Eternity – that left the deepest impression. Ivory florals, soft candlelight, and delicate mist set a dreamlike scene. As the bride’s father placed her hand into the groom’s, a cascade of surprise fireworks illuminated the sky, echoing the emotion shared by every guest.
What elevated this wedding beyond spectacle was the bond forged over eight months of planning. “By the end,” Anand recalls, “it no longer felt like a client-vendor relationship. It felt like family.”

What Would You Change in Wedding Hospitality Today?
“Sustainability,” Anand answers without hesitation. “Luxury and conscience are not opposites – they should be partners.”
He envisions a wedding landscape where celebrations are not only lavish, but mindful. Some of his guiding principles:
- Reusable decor, live plants over cut florals, and plastic-free service
- Promoting rental fashion or heritage wear for guests and family
- Donating extra food or decor to local communities and charities
- Inviting guests to support causes close to the couple’s heart
“Weddings,” Anand adds, “are powerful. If every event left behind beauty, joy, and positive impact – we wouldn’t just be creating memories; we’d be building a better world.”
